Su Blackwell does not use light, photography or layering in her installation work. I include her in my research though because her work adds another element of life to the paper. The story is brought to life by literally lifting it off the page.
Each piece of work is totally different from another because it depends on the story in the book. I feel though that each viewer who looks at this work could impart a totally different story, element, life into it. It is down to the viewers imagination and feelings as to what the work represents, shows or tells us.
There is a light shining onto it to give it the sense of light and shade, shadows and brightness but it is quite subtle and not at all overpowering.
